The Focus of Our Efforts
Each Month Belize Brain Awareness Society is filled with BRAIN Activities, for the community and the world to be more aware of BRAIN Challenges. These are our Annual BRAIN Events Campaign.
JANUARY BRAIN AWARENESS
Food and the BRAIN
We see every challenge as an opportunity, and this initiative helps us ensure that our partners are better prepared to manage the unique situations they find themselves in. We are invested in an innovative approach that empowers our community and delivers the support they need, when they need it.
FEBRUARY BRAIN AWARENESS
Epilepsy Awareness
The focus on the area of Epilepsy, normally takes place during this month. Neurologist take Belizeans on a deeper look and understanding of what this Brain illness and how it can be contain.
MARCH BRAIN AWARENESS
BRAIN Awareness Week
Brain Awareness Week is the global campaign to foster public enthusiasm and support for brain science. Every March, partners host imaginative activities in their communities that share the wonders of the brain and the impact brain science has on our everyday lives.
APRIL BRAIN AWARENESS
BRAIN Bee Champion
BRAIN Bee Championship is a High School BRAIN Competition to inspire teen Science Majors, to study and practice in the neuroscience field. The International Brain Bee (IBB) is a neuroscience competition for teenagers. The IBB was founded in 1999 by Dr. Norbert Myslinski, and consists of over 200 chapters in more than 50 regions on 6 continents. Its purpose is to help treat and find cures for brain disorders by inspiring and motivating young men and women to pursue careers in basic and clinical neuroscience.
MAY BRAIN AWARENESS
Brain Injury Awareness
May is observe as Brain Injury Awareness Month. This BRAIN campaign is led by Bikers to bring this awareness to life. Funds from the Brain Bikers Rally, is aided to help others with Brain CT Scan. The campaign also hopes to remove the stigma surrounding brain injuries.
JUNE BRAIN AWARENESS
Headache and Migraine Awareness
This month is notices as National Migraine and Headache awareness month. This month is important because the start of any Mental and/or Neurological illness starts with basic headache or migraine, which indicates to the system that something is wrong.
JULY BRAIN AWARENESS
Alzheimer's Awareness Month
This month is observed as national Alzheimer's Awareness Month, this is to raise awareness and challenge the stigma that surrounds dementia.
AUGUST BRAIN AWARENESS
Back 2 School SPECIAL!
Through our Support Services, we have the potential to make a real and positive change in the community. This is one of our key areas of focus here at Belize Brain Awareness Society, and a source of much success for our Non-Profit Organization. SEPTEMBER BRAIN AWARENESS
Suicide Prevention Month
Most of our efforts pertaining to this program involve studying new approaches and developing innovative ways to Prevent Suicicde, through presentations targetting our community and the world.
OCTOBER BRAIN AWARENESS
Mental Health Awareness
We see every challenge as an opportunity, and this initiative helps us bring awareness of Mental Health and Wellness to the community, through presentations and interviews. We are invested in an innovative approach that empowers our community and delivers the support they need, when they need it, for Mental Health.
NOVEMBER BRAIN AWARENESS
Brain and Technology
Through our Support Services, we have the potential to make a real and positive change in the community, to educate our society about the dangers of BRAIN and Technology. This is one of our key areas of focus here at Belize Brain Awareness Society, and a source of much success for our Non-Profit Organization. DECEMBER BRAIN AWARENESS
Health Education for School Children, with Learning Disorders.
Most of our efforts pertaining to this program involve studying new approaches and developing innovative ways to implement Healthy Education for Learning Disability students. We evaluate our success in this field by gathering qualitative and quantitative data, from the school in which this activity is hosted at.
